Scheduled downtime on Web44, Web46 and Dweb36 (cancelled)

We will be taking down Web44, Web46 and Dweb36 tomorrow (December 2nd) at 9am GMT to investigate the cause of an audible alarm.
Depending on the severity of the issue the downtime could be between a few minutes and a few hours. We will update this ticket as soon as we have more information tomorrow.
Update: we were able to resolve the issue without any downtime.

We will bring down Web52 at 2am CST tomorrow morning for some quick maintenance work. The downtime shouldn't be more than a few minutes.
Update: the maintenance work is now over and the server is back online.

Scheduled downtime on Web 1 and Web 21. (Fixed)

Tomorrow morning we'll be taking Web 1 and Web 21 down for maintenance. Web 1 will be taken down at 9 AM CST and Web 21 will be taken down at 10 AM CST. We expect the down time to last between 30 minutes and an hour.
Update [10:15 AM CST]: Maintenance on Web 1 is taking longer than expected. Web 1 should be up and running again shortly and we will not be taking down Web 21 today.

We will be taking down Web11 tomorrow (October 21st) at 8am GMT to investigate an issue with the RAID array.
Depending on the severity of the issue the downtime could be between a few minutes and a few hours. We will update this ticket as soon as we have more information tomorrow.
Update 2.29pm GMT: The RAID has now been fixed and the server is back online.

[Done] Rebooting Servers

At 10 PM CDT Web 21, Web 22, Web 28, and Web 29 will be rebooted. They were booted using the wrong kernel and as a result they only utilize 3.5 GB out of the installed 4 GB of memory. The down time should last no longer than 15 minutes.

Scheduled maintenance work on Web11 tomorrow (done)

We will take Web11 offline tomorrow (Saturday 5th of January) at 12:00 GMT to investigate an issue with the RAID controller. We will update this post when we know more about the problem.
Update: One of the drives in the RAID was dead. We replaced it quickly and put the machine back online. The new drive is now finished rebuilding the data.

Web6 drive replacement (fixed)

As we mentioned yesterday the primary drive in Web6 needs replacing. It is going down now for this work and will be unavailable until it is completed. We'll update this ticket with our progress.
Update: Web6 is now back up. FYI, Web6 is one of a few old servers without RAID, so it is vulnerable to a single drive failure. All of our other servers have RAID so a single drive failure doesn't affect them.

Planned Network Maintenance

On Fri Apr 20th between midnight and 2am CST our data center staff will be upgrading some of our switches.
This will effect Mail3.webfaction.com and some of our customers on dedicated machines. These machines should be unavailable for no more that 5-10 minutes.
Update: The upgrade is complete.

RAM upgrade on Web11

Web11 will be taken down today to add an extra 2GB of RAM. The downtime shouldn't last more than 20 minutes. Unfortunately the datacenter doesn't tell us the exact time of the upgrade but it should be between 9am and 1pm GMT. We'll update this post when the upgrade is finished.
