Due to performance issues on Web314 we are going to migrate it to faster hardware on February 27th between 10am and 12pm UTC.

The server’s main IP will change from 85.17.23.70 to 37.58.75.250.

If you’re using WebFaction’s DNS servers for all your domains then you don’t need to do anything.

If you’re using non-WebFaction DNS servers for some of your domains then you will have to update their A records yourself. We will leave a proxy running on the old server for 5 days to redirect all HTTP and HTTPS traffic to the new server.

We’ll update this post as the work progresses.

Update 2014-02-27 12:06 UTC: The migration is starting now

Update 2014-02-27 14:47 UTC: The migration is taking a bit longer than expected.

Update 2014-02-27 19:15 UTC: The server has been migrated to the new machine, but there was a problem with the old server and we were unable to recover the last 24 hours of changes. Also the MySQL data on the new server is incomplete, we are in the process of restoring from backup.

Update 2014-02-27 19:58 UTC: We have setup a proxy on the old server to redirect all HTTP and HTTPS traffic to the new server. The proxy will stay for 5 days.

Update 2014-02-27 20:20 UTC: PostgreSQL is also missing and we are working on restoring.

Update 2014-02-27 21:58 UTC: We have finished restoring Postgres and MySQL databases from backup.

Update 2014-02-27 22:01 UTC: The migration is now over. If you experience any issues with your sites open a ticket and we’ll look into it asap.
